The 8th Flared Sweatpants — Women's Drawstring

The 8th Flared Sweatpants are cut in a 310 gsm smooth knit — soft, substantial and nothing like fleece — and finish in a generous open flare from the knee down. Fitted through the waist and thigh, wide at the hem line, with a drawstring waistband and two flap pockets at the back. It's the silhouette that makes a plain outfit look considered.

The flare is the whole point, and it's a real one — fitted through the hip and thigh, then opening properly below the knee into a wide, unbroken line to the hem. No cuff, no taper. It falls clean and moves well, and it makes ordinary tops look like they were styled.

The fabric is a smooth 310 gsm knit — that's the detail worth knowing. Unlike a fleece sweatpant this has a flat, clean surface: no brushed nap, no bulk, and it holds its line instead of going bobbly at the knee. It reads more like a trouser than a tracksuit bottom, which is exactly why it works away from the sofa.

The construction is simple and good. A wide elasticated waistband with white flat drawcords — a clean, deliberate contrast against all four colourways. Two back pockets with pointed flaps, set into the seat rather than patched on. A straight centre back seam, and the wide open hem.

In all four colourways: black, light tan, grey and navy. Black and navy are the workhorses; light tan is the one that looks like it cost more; grey is the one you'll live in.

Wear them with the matching hoodie as a set, or with a bodysuit and boots to break it up.

Fit & sizing

High-waisted, fitted through the hip and upper thigh, opening into a wide flare from the knee down and finishing at the hem. Take your usual size for the intended fit; size up if you want the waistband lower or the fit easier through the thigh.
